Overloading the Machine

  • 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 1½ ounces (35ml) Sazerac Rye Whiskey or Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • 3 spritzes absinthe
  • 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • Lemon twist

In a mixing glass full of ice, combine simple syrup, rye, and bitters.

Spritz an Old Fashioned glass with the absinthe.

Strain the drink into the glass.

Serve with a twist of lemon.
